Canal Boat has done a review on Mr D’s Thermal Cooker on page 90 where they talk about how successful it was on cooking soups, curries and casseroles.
Yachting World on the other hand talk about how Anne Letton, on her boat Timebandit used a Mr D’s while competing in last years ARC (The Atlantic Rally for Cruisers). Every morning Anne started a meal in her thermal cooker so that her crew of five could eat at around 5 o’clock.
So far this year one Mr D’s Thermal Cooker has definitely been bought to use on the ARC and there has been enquiries from at least two more competitors.
2012 will be the third year that Mr Ds Thermal Cookers have been used to feed hungry crews as they cross the Atlantic from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to their Caribbean destination Rodney Bay in Saint Lucia. The 2700 nautical mile passage on the NE tradewind route takes on average between 14 and 21 days for the 200 plus yachts from all over the world.
